Darren's Fundraiser for SEED Madagascar - Biodiversity Conservation & Research
My Story
This October, I’m heading to Madagascar to volunteer for 2 months with SEED Madagascar — a brilliant charity based in Fort Dauphin, in the southeast of the country.
I’ll be working in the remote forests of Sainte Luce, helping with biodiversity research and conservation efforts to protect some of the world’s rarest and most threatened species. Madagascar is home to thousands of plants and animals found nowhere else on Earth — but its ecosystems are disappearing fast.
SEED does incredible work combining scientific research, conservation, and community-led development. To support their mission and help fund the resources needed on the ground, I’m asking for your help. I'll be paying my own travel costs, so each donation goes directly towards SEED's projects.
For example, here's what donations can go towards:
- £10 can provide a beekeeper with a protective bee suit, making it easier to carry out hive management and earn a sustainable livelihood.
- £25 can provide a desk and bench for an underequipped public school, improving learning conditions for children who would otherwise study on the floor.
- £150 can provide a well pump to a remote village, ensuring their access to clean drinking water and improving community health.
If you can donate anything — big or small — it’ll go a long way. Míle Buíochas!
