My Story

Hello, my name is Maddie Coleman. I am 22 years old and I was selected by SEED Madagascar to take part in their 2024 Conservation Research Programme. SEED Madagascar is a registered UK-based charity (no. 1079121) that is working on conservation, humanitarian, and sustainable livelihood projects in the southeast of Madagascar.

For me to go to Madagascar, I need to help fundraise for essential projects that the programme helps support as well as fund those that will help take care of me when I am there. More than 90% of what I raise will go into SEED Madagascar's charitable projects.  Some of these projects help local communities with everyday needs such as access to clean water and sanitation. Your donation will help SEED Madagascar to fund these essential projects and see positive change in local communities in Madagascar.

The particular project that I will be a part of is Environmental Conservation. The environmental projects help protect threatened species in the Anosy region of Madagascar as well as educate local communities about the importance of endemic species. I will be working closely with trained professionals and local people to conduct vital research to protect endangered species. There are currently four ongoing projects, one that is seeking further funding and five completed projects. You can find more information about these projects here:  Environmental Conservation - Preserving biodiversity - SEED Madagascar

SEED Madagascar has also many other vital projects such as Education Infrastructure where people work with children who aren't likely to complete primary school. These projects are wonderful and you can find more context about them here: About us, our projects, and where we work - SEED Madagascar

Thank you to anyone who donates or spreads the word! I can't wait to partake in this amazing opportunity and be apart of something bigger than me. Please consider donating today and help me go to Madagascar to make a difference!
